Like so many other homes in coveted Menlo Park, this lovingly updated California rancher sits on a charming, tree-lined street filled with families with young kids.

The owners came to us for help creating an interior that would provide a calm respite from their busy work lives, but also offer space for their toddler to play and explore. We came up with a design plan that featured furnishings and accessories that were family-friendly, yet still sophisticated enough for entertaining. We loved getting to introduce pattern and color into the home and configured each space so it had maximum flexibility for their growing family: A place for their two-year-old to do art projects. Cozy sofas so the couple can relax with a glass of wine on a Friday evening. An open, flowy living area to welcome friends and family any time they stop by.
